Robert Oatley Winemaker's Dinner
Hawkesbury Race Club played host to an intimate evening of fine dining and wine appreciation in September, with the first annual Winemaker's Dinner hosted by Robert Oatley Vineyards spoiling guests with impeccable tastes!
With chief winemaker Rob Merrick introducing the history of Oatley's passion for viticulture and talking guests through each wine selected for the appropriate dish, six courses were distributed to the 70 guests who delighted at the delicate presentation and richness of each plate.
The degustation menu began with Oysters and a glass of Riesling, followed by a Rainbow Trout dish with Chardonnay, Stuffed Quail with Pinot Noir, Poached Lamb Cutlet with Cabernet Sauvignon; trailed by a delectable Chocolate Hazlenut Bar with the dessert wine Syrah, and a cheese board with Botrytis.
On hand to provide a gentle backdrop of acoustics was Hawkesbury Race Club's own Nicole Hulett, who entertained with a micture of jazz, contemporary pop and soulful ballads.
